Utada and Ayumi Hamasaki really respect each other and don't view each other as rivals. If you look at their music, it's really completely different. They only get compared because they're the most famous. Personally I listen to female Jpop artists most, like Utada Hikaru, Ayumi Hamasaki and Angela Aki. Probably after that I listen to more Johnny's and Asian Kung Fu Generation like bands...
